A NOVEL EXPERIENCE

I've taken some of the cover art from lesbian pulp fiction of the 1950's and 1960's and given them a new twist. Tenderware's pulp novel covers inspired me. The majority of these novels were written for a male audience. Lesbianism was often portrayed as a sin or perversion. The theme usually was about an innocent young woman falling into the clutches of an older 'evil' lesbian. These stories usually ended with the young woman rescued by a man and brought into the fold of heterosexuality. The lesbian usually ended up killing herself.  However, I'm opting to show the majority of my modified covers with tender scenes, Voyager's women having a good time, a passionate encounter, or with a certain amount of humor. I will be adding more later. Enjoy

Yeah, right.  Janeway just has to be the warden. Ain't no inmate gonna have a get up like she is sporting. That decor sure ain't no prison cell. The original of this picture was used to illustrate covers of other novels.  1962

The Captain, Seven and B'Elanna are serving 30 days for trashing a bar at a spaceport in the Delta Quadrant.  Janeway looks like she is hot and bothered. She is thinking of a way to manage getting in the shower with Seven without the matron noticing. B'Elanna is oblivious to the vibes Janeway and Seven are generating. 1956

I'm not so sure Seven's undies are regulation prison wear.  Maybe she does some 'office work' for Warden Janeway to earn them. 1960

B'Elanna is looking a little like a deer caught in the headlights. This is a very voluptuous and stunning Seven of Nine.  I wouldn't mind being 'caught' in her headlights.  1964

Three major sins of the Southern Baptist Church here on one cover: Alcohol, cigarettes and illicit sex. Just add a little Rock and Roll music and dancing to insure that all the dunking in Georgia won't wash away your sins. 1952

Seven is all 'pretty in pink'. The original art on this cover was used as the cover to other stories with only minor modifications.  1959

This type of art is what I call 'Comic Book' cover. They were often crudely drawn and usually showed 'tough' leather clad women. Often one or two women on the cover would be beating or whipping a man while the innocent young woman was a horrified witness. Anyway, this is my version of the 1960's Borg.  1965
